Sony Mobile's next Android flagship smartphone, C6603 “Yuga” has just been caught on camera, which might suggest the Japanese company plans to announce it earlier than we might have expected.
Several live pictures have been recently published by Android Schweiz blog 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 U2FtcGxlLVBpY3R1cmUtTGVha3MtMzAwNjYwLnNodG1sIj5DNjYwMyBZdWdhPC9hPg==, but it's almost certain it will be a member of the Xperia series.
Even though we're not sure when exactly Sony will go official with the C6603 Yuga, there's a high chance the Japanese company will announce the smartphone in a few months at Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which is set for January.
Software-wise, the C6603 Yuga has been confirmed to be powered by Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box. It will also run kernel version 3.4 and a new 10.1.A.0.XXX firmware.

However, given the fact that this is a test sample device, the final version might suffer some hardware and software changes.
On the inside, the smartphone is said to feature a powerful 1.5 GHz quad core processor, probably manufactured by Qualcomm. In addition, it will embed 2GB of RAM and possibly microSD card slot for memory expansion.
Another strong point of the C6603 Yuga would be the hyper-vibrant 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display with full HD (1080p) resolution.
That's about everything we know about the upcoming high-end smartphone, but we're certa in more details on the C6603 Yuga will emerge in the following weeks, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
