The unannounced Sony C660X “Yuga” was spotted a few days ago, along with few of its specs. In fact aside from the fact that it was equipped with a powerful processor, not much was revealed until today.
A previous AnTuTu benchmark confirmed the C660X will be powered by a 1.5 GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, which will be complemented by an Adreno 320 graphics processing unit.
Today, blog site Rbem was able to confirm via another benchmark that Sony C660X “Yuga” will be equipped with a stunning display that supports 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution.
Although the size of the screen is still a mystery, we can safely assume the smartphone's display will have at least 5-inch, otherwise the full HD (1080p) resolution wouldn't have been possible.
The guys over at XperiaBlog speculate that Sony C660X's display could be produced by Japan Display, a company formed recently through the merge between Sony Mobile Display, Toshiba Mobile Display and Hitachi Displays.
It appears that this company announced a whil e ago it has started the mass production of 5.0-inch TFT IPS LCD displays that supports 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 443ppi.
Software-wise, Sony C660X “Yuga” has been confirmed to be powered by Google's latest Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean operating system, though we won't be sure of this until the Japanese handset maker comes forward with an official announcement.
The C660X “Yuga” is Sony's second high-end Android smartphone that leaks within the last several days, after C650X “Odin” made headlines about a week ago. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
