PlayStation Network Will Be Improved After GTA 5 Issues, Sony Promises

Sony has promised that it's going to be allocating even more resources to making the PlayStation Network a better service, after the launch of Grand Theft Auto 5 resulted in download issues and performance problems for PS3 owners.

The PSN has evolved from its early stages when it offered just small downloadable titles, as Sony allows PS3 users to pre-purchase, pre-load, or download full retail games, like the most recent Grand Theft Auto 5.

Sadly, the launch of GTA V resulted in errors while downloading the game and in problems while playing it.

Sony UK boss Fergal Gara promises that the PSN will get better, especially since the PS4 will be released in November and will focus on digital distribution via the online service.

"The network will perform better on multiple levels, because it becomes not just a sales or gaming delivery but, increasingly, a social n etwork," he told Eurogamer.

As of yet, however, Sony hasn't offered official solutions to GTA 5's download errors or its performance problems, although some workarounds have surfaced online.
