Last week HTC USA confirmed its Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for HTC One has been approved by Verizon Wireless and claimed the upgrade will drop early this week.
HTC's Mohammed Versi states the update might arrive as early as this Tuesday and it looks like he was right. As expected, the major update rolling out now for HTC One owners at Verizon is indeed the long awaited Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
Key issues have been resolved:
- Increased charging speed when using Mophie Juicepack power station;
- Corrected faint ringing noise from earpiece;
- Play purchased ringtones;
- Connection error fixed in the HTC Watch application;
- View the correct date using the all day calendar reminder;
- Conjunction words are better recognized on device keyboard;
- Backup Assistant performance.
Key OS enhancements:
- Verizon Cloud App is now preloaded;
- Back up contacts, photos, text messages and call logs;
- Transfer that content to your new phone or if other is lost / stolen.
Gallery / Video Highlight improvements:
- Add your own music tracks to Video Highlights video;
- Simply tap Menu / Select Music to choose a song from your collection.
Kee p in mind the update is pushed OTA (over the air) in stages, so it might take a while until it reaches all HTC One devices.
Those who have yet to be notified on the update should check for it manually by going to Settings / Menu / About / Software updates.
In the same piece of news, HTC One is also expected to receive the latest Android 4.4 KitKat update sometime next year. Stay tuned for more info on the matter.
