Skier Lindsey Vonn was injured in Austria at the Alpine World Championships earlier this month. She’s had surgery on the leg and is now in recovery and, as it happens, she’s keeping her fans / supporters up to speed with everything on social media.
Just the other day, she posted the photo attached to this article on her Instagram account, with the caption “My knee looks...um...not very good....” and a joke about how she’d have to wear long shirts throughout the summer.
Vonn isn’t out to shock by revealing such graphic pics, but rather to show the world that she’s determined to get back in the saddle as quickly as possible.
She knows her road back will be a long and difficult one but she’s prepared for it, as both her Facebook and Twitter prove.
For instance, also on Instagram (and Twitter as well), she posted a photo of herself with an exercise ball. She’s sitting on the hospital bed, so she can’t move the lower part of her body, but she’s making the upper part stronger.
“When you fall you get back up,” the caption to the photo says.
On Facebook, she updated fans on the surgery.
“Success! Surgery went very well yesterday and I’m recovering at home in Vail with my family. I want to sincerely thank everyone for their well wishes these last few days,” she wrote.
“It’s going to be a long and hard road back but I will be back!!” Vonn added.
On a more personal note, reports have it that Vonn is dating golfer Tiger Woods and that the two are spending more time together, being totally smitten with each other.
