Apple Adds Subtitles to Promo Videos

Apple has quietly added subtitles to some of the marketing videos for the company’s latest products, such as the new MacBook Pro with Retina display, and iCloud, the web-based suite of services replacing MobileMe.

After airing three commercials that seemed to target the less-savvy Mac user, Apple is now offering the option to watch its promotional videos with subtitles, perhaps to make it easier to remember technical details, or to better make out what Bob Mansfield is saying when he decides to change his tone from one word to another.

Jokes aside, it’s a thoughtful touch on behalf of the Cupertino, California-based giant. Non-native Eng lish speakers will undoubtedly welcome the change.

From what we’ve noticed, not all the videos on Apple’s site offer subtitles. For now, it seems only the new MacBook Pro and iCloud ads are important enough to deserve transcripts of what the Apple executive team has to say.
