IBM Investing $1B / 750M In Servers in 3-Year Plan

You'd think that servers and data centers are doing as well as they could be, and compared to personal computers they pretty much are, but that doesn't mean companies are satisfied. IBM certainly isn't.

As such, IBM will put into practice a 3-year investment and promotion plan to encourage server sales. That's what some say at least.

The plan will involve an investment of $1 billion / €750 million, all meant to improve the System X product line and enable future busines opportunities in high-density server fields.

Pegatron, Foxconn, Wistron, Mitac International and Delta Network are all helping in the lab, with the R&D effort.

Over the next three years, factories from China, Hungary and Mexico will see a lot of use. I'm sure Intel's new Xeon E5-2600 v2 CPUs will be a large part of IBM's strategy.
