Affordable BSNL Champion SM3512 and SM3513 Now Available in India

Indian carrier BSNL has announced its partnership with Champion to bring the BSNL Champion My Phone SM3512 and SM3513 smartphones to India.

Fonearena reports that both entry-level smartphones offer dual-SIM support, so users will be able to have two SIM cards inside each of the BSNL handsets.

It is also worth mentioning that BSNL Champion SM3513 comes with 3G connectivity, whereas the BSNL Champion SM3512 only offers EDGE support. They are available for Rs 4,499 ($73/€54) and Rs 3,225 ($52/€38), respectively.

“The new BSNL Champion My Phones bring a seamless blend of essential features and a great price range. The market in tier 2 and 3 cities is ripe for such a product offering as the consumers are becoming increasingly tech-savvy and the demand for user-friendly products is very high,” said Kapil Wadhwa, MD, Champion Computers Pvt. Ltd.

Aside from that, the budget-friendly smartphones are pretty much the same. They sport 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen displays that support 320 x 480 pixels resolution and dual-core processors.

On the inside, each smartphone packs 512MB or RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB). They also come with dual cameras (3-megapixel rear-facing camera and 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera).

Software-wise , BSNL Champion SM3512 and SM 3513 ship with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box. Other highlights of the phone include: Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, FM Radio with recording and 1300 mAh Li-Ion battery (6 hours of talk time).

“Needless to say, technology is wide-spread today and to reach to the grass-root level, we must have quality hardware, interactive content and robust & affordable carrier service.

“BSNL also has an agreement for sale of bundled devices with Champion Computers and have also launched a special 3G Data plan for tablets which include 500MB free data + 50 Minutes On-Net Voice calls per month for 6 months,” added Shree Anupam Srivastava, DIR (CM), BSNL Board.
