Former Call of Duty and Skylanders Head of Development Joins Oculus Rift Team

The development team behind the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset announces that Laird M. Malamed has joined the company and is currently occupying the position of Chief Operating Officer.

Previously the executive has worked for Activision Blizzard as head of development and senior vice president, overseeing the creation of games in such prestigious franchises like Call of Duty, Skylanders and Guitar Hero.

Laird Malamed states when the announcement was made, “The opportunity to join Oculus and build the future of virtual reality gaming was too exciting to pass up. I look forward to being part of the team, creating a completely new medium for the video game industry and its many potential applications for the future.”

Oculus Rift is a very ambitious project that might revolutionize the way we experience video games and developer bound units should be delivered during early 2013.
