Dual-SIM Lava Iris 402+ Officially Introduced in India

Indian OEM Lava Mobiles has just announced the upcoming availability of a new budget-friendly Android smartphone, the Iris 402+.

According to Lava, the handset will be available for purchase in India in the next couple of days for Rs 6,499 ($105/€75) outright. However, Lava Iris 402+ is already up for pre-order at several online retailer for only Rs 5,499 ($90/€65).

The device is far from being impressive, hence the low price. Still, it offers more than decent features for its price tag. The most important, obviously, is the fact that it offers dual-SIM support (GSM / WCDMA) with Dual Standby.

Aside from that, it also provides users with fast mobile data speeds thanks to 3G connectivity. Other connectivity options worth mentioning is Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP support, Wi-Fi and GPS with A-GPS support.

As fonearena points out, Lava Iris 402+ is only 11.4mm thick and weighs around 124g (battery included). That makes is a pretty decent smartphone in terms of size and weight.

Hardware-wise, the Iris 402+ comes equipped with a dual-core ARM Cortex-A7 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, which is complemented by 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory.

Keep in mind that only around 2GB will be available for users, but luckily, the smartphone comes with microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

On the back, Lava Iris 402+ sports a mediocre 3-megapixel photo snapper with video recording, while in the front there's a secondary VGA camera for video calls.

It is also worth mentioning the smartphone sports a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution, as well as a FM Radio and 3.5mm jac k.

The smarpthone is powered by a 1,500 mAh Li-Ion battery, which is rated for up to 200 hours of standby time or up to 7 hours of talk time (5 hours in 3G mode).
