LG Optimus G Receiving Android 4.4 KitKat Update in Estonia

LG has yet to officially confirm which of its products will receive an Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade in the future, though some of the company's branches spilled the beans a few times over the past couple of weeks.

LG France let it slip a few months ago the Optimus G will be getting the Android 4.4 KitKat update sometime in October, but that did not happen in the said timeframe.

However, PGEgdGFyZ2V0PSJfYmxhbmsiIHJlbD0ibm9mb2xsb3ciPlRoZURyb2lkR3V5PC9hPg== reports LG Optimus G is now receiving the highly anticipated upgrade in Estonia. Yes, you heard that right, the old Optimus G is getting the KitKat treatment before LG's latest flagship smartphone, the Optimus G2.

According to the cited source, the update is exclusively available on major carrier Elisa, which is the second larges t network operator in Estonia.

Unfortunately, there's no telling if and when LG will start delivering Android 4.4 KitKat for the Optimus G in other countries.

Given the fact the South Korean company did not yet unveiled its plans for KitKat upgrades, it's hard to say which devices aside the Optimus G and Optimus G2 will be getting the newest version of Android in the coming months.

For those who don't remember what's with the Optimus G, the smartphone was launched about a year ago, so it's not that old.

LG Optimus G was released with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box and unlike its much more powerful Optimus G2 that packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, it comes with a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm PQ8064 Snapdragon CPU.

It also sports a 4.7-inch True HD IPS+ capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (768 x 1280 pixels) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating. For more details on the smarpthone's feature check out our database for LG Optimus G full specs sheet.
